The Venueeurobodalla-125

The venue for this round of the Finish Line Singletrack Mind Series is Maulbrooks MTB Park in Mogo, on the NSW South coast. The area offers a plethora of of singletrack with glorious beaches on its doorstep, and the famous Mogo Zoo is amongst its many attractions.

The Course

Eurobodalla Cyclists are looking forward to welcoming riders to Maulbrooks MTB Park at Mogo on the weekend of 19 & 20 July. While the infamous "Snake Track" is arguably the jewel in the crown, the rest of the 12km loop will have riders grinning as they ride its flowing corners and fun descents.

Here's a GPS trace of the proposed loop, and check out the preview vid of the beautifully crafted trails that you'll be enjoying at the race!

Entries

Entries for Round 2 of the Singletrack Mind Series are available here and will close at midday on Thursday 17 July. We are not accepting any entries on the day, however substitute riders are allowed. All substitute riders must download, fill out and bring the New Rider Form to Registration. If your new rider is not a MTBA member they will need to pay $20 (cash only) for a MTBA day licence even if the rider they are replacing has already paid for a day licence online – the insurance policy always stays with the individual. Day licences are not transferable BUT the unused day licence will be refunded to the rider who originally paid for it in online entry – minus a buck ($1) for administration.

Camping & Parking Logistics for Mogo

Camping and parking are available from 1.00-5.00pm on Saturday 19 July and parking from 5.30am on Sunday 20 July. There is a charge of $5 per person payable for camping at Registration (via honesty system).

Whilst we have glorious trails and a lovely event centre at Mogo, what the venue does lack is parking! The limited parking available at the event centre will be on a first come, first served basis. So please think about this before you head off:

  1. Car Pool! It's not only cheaper, more fun and better for the environment but you'll have less hassle with parking.

  2. We highly recommend that you get to Mogo on Saturday, get set-up, registered and pre-ride the course!

  3. On Saturday and Sunday, you will be allowed to drop off your marquees etc. at the event centre (strictly 5 minute drop off), but all competitor cars will be parked approx. 1km from the event centre. After unloading, one of your group drives back and parks the car (on a private property that has graciously agreed to assist the smooth running of the event) then ride your bike back on marked fire trails that keep you mostly off Maulbrooks Road for your safety.

  4. Event Camping for tents is in the event centre where there are toilets and water, and vehicle camping such as vans/caravans/camper trailers will camp in the parking area. There will be a toilet at the campervan/parking area (BYO toilet roll!) but you will need to bring your own water, and no fires are allowed as it's private property. You'll also need to look after your own rubbish, as it goes without saying that we need to 'leave no trace' on this private land.as it's private property. The night time cut off for event centre access and camping is strictly 5pm – i.e. you must have dropped off your stuff and your car removed from the event centre by 5pm! We’re sorry if this is inconvenient to anyone but there are plenty of commercial campsites nearby if you wish to arrive later. Dinner from Snax on Trax will be available at the event centre.

  5. Bring lights for your bike if you think you will need to ride to/from the parking area after dark, particularly if you are camping in the parking area and wish to enjoy dinner at the Event Centre from Snax on Trax. We do request that all those camping at the Event Centre has returned from their vehicle by 5pm and then recommend that you remain at the event centre overnight.

  6. The drop off zone and event centre access by car will only be open on race day from 5.30am to 7.15am, with limited access for spectators only after 8.15am. If you haven't arrived by 7.15am, you'll be lugging your race gear up from the carpark. Don't be late!

  7. Please don't park on the edges of Maulbrooks Rd near the event centre you will impede emergency access and Forestry Rangers may also fine you.

  8. The same but in reverse applies for the finish of the race. Pack up all your stuff, carry it to the drop off zone, THEN get your car.

  9. During the race, there will be limited parking for spectators to drive to the event centre to come and watch the race.

The Course Management Map shows all of this pretty clearly, so please take a look!

This is all pretty simple and only adds an easy 1km ride to your day, just ensure that you're well organised and your day will be hassle free and full of singletrack splendour!
