The Chocolate Wrapper - 2015 Finish Line Singletrack Mind Series R3 Event Report

Dear Singletracker

scum 250

We have a big soft spot for Nowra, Joe's hometown and home to plenty of sweet flowing singletrack! Good ol' Nowra didn't disappoint for the 6th year in a row and the Coodoo Road course once again got the thumbs up from pretty much everyone!

Being the third and final round, series podiums were up for grabs ensuring some highly competitive racing, and 26% of the field were women, a record female participation rate for a mountain bike race in NSW. We were so pleased to welcome the new members of the Chocolate Foot women's development team, and look forward to witnessing them build their skills, fitness and confidence over the next year.

The Coondoo Road trails took a massive battering in late August when 400+mm of rain fell over a couple of days. The South Coast United Mountainbikers (SCUM) crew have put in a ton of hours to fix up the damage at Coondoo Road and their other trails (Butterfly Road and Superbowl) and we are truly grateful to them for ensuring the race could go ahead and their wonderful hospitality as always.

Thanks for providing your feedback on the event - great to receive such positive comments! Check it out here. We're always open to suggestions, so do let us know if we can enhance your event experience in any way!

There were plenty of fantastic battles throughout the day and you can read up on all the racing news on Mountain Biking Australia Magazine. The kids' race was a hotly-contested event and this venue was wonderful in that it provided a dedicated singletrack loop for the action.

We are very lucky to have such awesome support from sponsors and services at the events. Thanks to SRAM, The Bike Shack, and Short Circuit Cancer for helping create a great vibe at the event centre.

Congratulations to all the category winners and place getters for their awesome efforts, recieving cash and prizes from our fantastic sponsors Finish Line, SRAM, Avid, RockShox, Truvativ, Hammer Nutrition, James Estate, Aussie Butt Cream, Mountain Biking Australia magazine, and Cycle & Fitness Studio!

Huge congratulations to our Series winners and placegetters, it's been fantastic to see you compete throughout the Series. Thank you for supporting the Series.

Chocolate Foot Women's MTB Development Team

We couldn't be more proud of the performance of our Chocolate Foot team members. A big shout out to Mel Nuttall who won the 4hr open female and took out the Series win. As for the new team members, thrown in at the deep end having only just been selected for the team, they all accepted the challenge of 4hr pairs, raced hard and threw down some great performances - including securing a podium or two! Well done to them all! In a week you'll see Mel, Robyn and Pippa on the start line at the Highland Fling. Good luck ladies, and we're really excited about what is to come in the next 12 months!

We'll be updating the Team Website soon with rider profiles, and there you can also find blogs and info about the team's great sponsors.
