Footprint: Chocolate Foot News, October 2014

Hello and welcome, time to feel the dirt through your toes in the latest edition of the Footprint!

2014, where have you gone? Time's flying, summer is on its way, the supermarkets have already got Christmas things stocked (whaaaat!) and the Finish Line Singletrack Mind Series is set to wrap up this weekend on the awesome trails of at Orange!

This year has already been great for us, the events have all gone off a treat and have been lots of fun! Our new Women's Development team have been great fun and have advanced much more quickly than we could have hoped. It also means we've been forced to keep pace with them and have been riding way more than we did last year. A win for all involved!

STM-Finish-Line2014 Finish Line Singletrack Mind Series Finale - Kinross State Forest, Orange - 19 October

This Sunday it all comes down to a thrilling finale at the final round at Orange. If you have yet to ride there you really need to do yourself a favour and come out - it's magic! And if you're worried about tiring out the legs before the Mont, we have 4 hour categories or team categories of up to 4 riders in the 7 hour. Ride as much or as little as you want!

As it's the end of the Series we're selling off all the 2014 series merchandise at silly cheap prices: $15 for our iconic Cycology t-shirt and $55 for our very fine jersey made by Ventou - available to purchase with your online entry.

The weather forecast is perfect, the trails are in great condition, Orange is a food and wine lover's paradise! Check out all the event info here!

Chocolate Foot 2015 Events

We've loved running the Singletrack Mind Series over the past five years and plan to keep serving up fun days on two wheels! The Series will return in 2015 and we're finalising the details of some new events which will contain many of the elements that you love about the Singletrack Mind Series: Hanging out with mates! Riding awesome singletrack! Visiting great destinations! WATCH THIS SPACE!

Chocolate Foot Racing Women's Team

The team have been racking up experience and podiums in not just our series but events such as the Back Yamma Bigfoot, the Kowalski Classic and XCO racing. Mel did "all right" in her first ever XC (Olympic format) race at one of Sydney's iconic MTB venues, Yellomundee. She won A grade women while Fi was also there in support, and took home the bacon in the B grade women category! You'll see these riders getting into more of the shorter, faster events such as XCO and Short Track XC over the summer.

Another discipline some the daredevils of the team are getting into is Gravity Enduro. Steph, Linda and Fi have all entered in the TransNZ 5-day Enduro race in March next year! Thankfully Specialized makes the perfect bike for the job: the Specialized Enduro, and all three now have almost matching Expert Carbon Enduros in 650b and 29" models. To say they like the new bikes is a massive understatement and they've all been getting into tackling challenging terrain in preparation for the event. Big thanks to Manly Cycles and Specialized for their support of the team.

The girls have been easy to spot when racing and training, sporting their striking Ventou team kit, designed by Rockpool Graphics. Check it out in the latest team pic below!

The team have been writing some great, insightful blog posts over the past few months about their training and racing experience, and general bike-related adventures - you can find these and info on the team and its members here.

Big thanks to all the team's sponsor partners: Manly CyclesCycle & Fitness StudioBioathletic Sports Injury & PerformanceSpecializedVentou Custom Cycle WearAussie Butt CreamHammer Nutrition and Rockpool Graphics. All without whom this project would not be possible.
