Chocolate Foot

Footprint: Chocolate Foot News, February 2013

There's a chance that there could be some very Chocolate-y looking Feet at the National MTB Champs this weekend at Stromlo Forest Park. The weather for the whole weekend looks pretty damp, the XC day especially so. A greasy Hammerhead should make for exciting spectating! We will both be there, Joe will be producing the TV coverage for SBS (for the 12th year in succession!) and Fi will be wrangling the timing computer and spitting out the numbers that count at the end of the day!

We have also been getting out racing a little as well. The Ginga Ninja 250 at Orange was a hoot - amazing trails and a great event by CWORBC and we somehow held it together to take 3rd place in Mixed Pairs! An entirely different event was the opening round of the MWMTB Short Track Series at St Ives Showground last week. Loads of riders, great racing but the fast and furious nature of the event is so, so hurty on the legs!

Just a brief update from us to announce the opening of entries for the 2013 SRAM Singletrack Mind Series (7pm tonight!), and highlight a few changes for 2013. Needless to say, we're super excited to be gearing up for this year's racing and can't wait to kick off the Series in Taree on 28 April!

Rock Wallaby Half Marathon

wallabyThe Rock Wallaby won't be appearing in 2013 due to negotiations being underway to formalise access for mountain biking to the Tharawal-Appin area. The Wollondilly Trailblazers MTB Club would love your support to help achieve this - check out their website for more info and don't forget to 'like' them on Facebookto keep up to date.

We've had lots of emails from people asking the date for this year's event - we're stoked to know the Rock Wallaby is so well loved! If you haven't already, check out some great reports from previous events here.

Fingers crossed that access to the land can be granted and our furry critter will be back in 2014!
