Putting our best foot forward

Women's MTB Development Team

Steph Jackson Chocolate FootChocolate Foot seeks to encourage and assist more women to get into mountain biking and promote female participation in this great and positive sport. We had long held the desire to form a women’s only MTB race team and in April 2014 launched our inaugural Women's Amateur Development MTB Team.

We are now into the second year of the team and have appointed 8 riders for 2015/2016. Team members will compete in selected endurance and cross-country events during the year. Our vision for these riders is that they are not necessarily experienced competitors to begin with – they will need to show potential, commitment, and be keen to progress in their mountain biking through the assistance of Chocolate Foot and other sponsors. We see them as becoming ambassadors for the sport, the brands that sponsor them, and an inspiration to other women.

We are thrilled to have sponsorship from several great businesses and services: Cycle & Fitness Studio in Balgowlah Heights, Manly Cycles (a Specialized dealer), Bioathletic Sports Injuries & Performance, and Today's Plan. The team will be managed by Chocolate Foot and we will provide race entries, team kit, skills coaching. Cycle Studio will provide fitness training in their Wattbike-equipped studio and training programs in conjunction with Today's Plan, Bioathletic will provide injury risk profiling, a strength & conditioning program and ongoing physiotherapy support, and Manly Cycles are offering fantastic discounts on bikes & gear, Body Geometry Fit, and workshop support. This synergy of services we believe will enable these women to become more technically competent, fitter, and confident riders. In addition, team members will receive a fantastic array of products and ongoing discounts from Hammer Nutrition, Aussie Butt Cream, Finish Line, and Ventou custom cycle clothing.

We are so very pleased to welcome the new members to the Chocolate Foot Racing team, and we and the team sponsors very much look forward to helping them go from strength to strength in their riding.
