New skills clinic dates announced!

Dear All

IMG 6569

Winter hump day has passed! Spring is coming! Although, we have been loving winter riding - no rush to get out before it gets too hot (lie-ins are encouraged), riding with a bidon rather than a heavy pack full of water, and the anticipation of a trip to Whistler in September is motivating us to brush up on our fitness and skills!

We've been helping out with the Manly Cycles social rides which continue despite the cold mornings! Come join us for a pre-work pedal!

This year we've been recruited at Cycle & Fitness Studio in North Balgowlah to deliver their wattbike classes. We've been attending classes here for 3 years and love this style of cycle training - and it's great for during those wet weather periods or if you want to improve your fitness but you're not a fan of riding on the road.

Last but not least - we've run some really successful clinics on the Manly Dam trails and surrounds over the past few months and we're stoked to announce some new dates. What's really working well about this location is that we have terrain to suit all level of rider. There's plenty of challenging trails to be found but also plenty of mellow ones too - the biggest hazard has been dodging doggy land mines on some of the reserves - we quickly learnt to add plastic bags to our equipment list ;) Anyway, new dates are found below, hope to see you at one of the clinics!

MTB Skills & Women's MTB Skills

These MTB Skills clinics continue to be popular with mostIMG 6498 classes selling out! They are suited to both beginner and intermediate riders who want to learn (or refresh their skills) everything from balance, body positioning, braking, cornering, climbing and descending. Participants who have been riding for years tell us they have gained so much confidence by knowing exactly what to do and why they’re doing it! You can never have too much skill!

Course dates: Women's MTB Skills - 22 July, MTB Skills - 5 August

Demystifying the Dam

IMG 6579In 3 hours we’ll teach you the essential skills you’ll need for the specific needs of riding the tough sandstone trails, starting with skills practice on grass and then applying it to the trails. Out on the trail we’ll demonstrate and teach how to ride difficult parts and then help you conquer them!

Course dates: 15 July, 24 September

Dam Busting

This four week course will return later this year.

Full details on all the clinics above, including registration details, are on our website!

One-on-One / Small Group Tuition

We also offer private or small group tuition, so if you can't make a group clinic or want private coaching, get in touch! These can be scheduled for any day of the week, and can be held at St Ives Showground or Manly Dam. We are also happy to travel to a location of your choice if the landowner permits it. This email address is being protected from spambots. Social Rides

We're involved in a bunch of regular social rides on Sydney's Northern Beaches. The regular rides include beginner and intermediate women’s MTB and road training rides. As mentioned at the top, we regularly ride and lead the Manly Cycles social rides, details posted here: https://www.facebook.com/ManlyCyclesAustralia/

Fi's running a road ride for women on 16 July, Specialized La Course Recon Ride. There's a Strava challenge for the weekend and it's an elevation challenge - we're going to be doing it all in one ride!

Also check out the website for more info - more dates will be posted soon!

That's it for now, hope to see you out on the trails or at a clinic!

Cheers

Fi & Joe
